Navy Expert Pistol Medal
A marksman, sharpshooter, or expert is a person in any
grade or rating who qualified by firing the standard service
pistol or rifle over one of the prescribed courses, and has
attained the minimum qualification score for the specific
marksmanship award. The duration of qualification as marksman,
sharpshooter, or expert is indefinite. Those who qualify as an
expert rate a ribbon and medal. The ribbon has a silver ā Eā
attachment and the medal has no attachments. Those who qualify
as a sharpshooter rate a ribbon with a bronze āSā attachment.
Those who qualify as a marksman rate a ribbon with no
attachments.
